Here’s how to get started:

Visit your Somerset County Library
- June 15 – August 29

Register for the Summer Reading
Club & get your starter packet

Have someone read to you
-
Have fun with activities
-
Exchange game board coupons for
prizes

It’s that easy & lots of fun!
Feel free to substitute any of the following activities
for a game board activity:
-
Visit the library and let the
child pick a book
-
Attend a program at the library
-
Read a book, work a puzzle, or
do a nursery rhyme or fingerplay
-
Color a picture or any art activity
-
Sing a song together (while driving,
diapering, working, bathing, etc.)
-
Cook something together and share
the words on the recipe
-
Read a book together while waiting
(doctor’s office, dentist, etc.)
-
Point out letters and printed
words everywhere (cereal boxes, street signs,
etc.)

Create a special place to read
together and to keep library materials

Show the child how to turn pages
-
Have an older child read to your
little one

Share a story with a friend (real,
stuffed, or imaginary)
